The Ministry of Health and Human Services held the 1st Quarter of the Health Sector Coordination Meeting for Somalia on March 13 and 14, 2023. The meeting lasted two days. This meeting occurs every three months and always focuses on the advancement of national health initiatives. In addition to presenting the points that emerged from the previous meeting held in December 2022, which was opened by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr Hamza Abdi Barre, this meeting is essential for analysing urgent health issues. Dr Ali Haji Adan, accompanied by the Minister of State for the Ministry of Health, Dr Maryam Mohamed Hussein, and the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Mohamed Hassan Mohamed Bulale, opened the meeting. The meeting was attended by some Directors of the Ministry of Health, the Ministries of Health in my region, the head of the Prime Minister’s office, especially the pillar of social affairs, international organizations that support health, the rest of the community, public and private hospitals, and the rest of the country.
Various topics will be discussed during the meeting including:
• Strengthening the Health Service Management Process
• Improvement of the service delivery system
• Development of the system, administration, and management of health data in the country
